PF unexpectedly closing
New to the forum here, but have been using PF for quite some time now. I love this program and have recommeded it to friends and family, but I've been having a rather frustrating problem.
Lately PF has been closing on its own. I'll be in the middle of a project, and the whole program will just shut down without freezing or an error message or any other such thing. It's been doing this for a while now, but at first would only do this every so often after being open for a good long while (30 minutes or there about, I would guess). In the past couple days though, it closes in less than a minute.
I've tried uninstalling the program and re-downloading it, both from Snapfiles.com and from PhotoFiltre.com, and I checked to make sure I had the latest version as well. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you resolve it? Conversly, could this be a problem with my computer (even though this hasn't happened with any other program, only PF)?
Thanks for your help everyone.

I am also a new user to this forum but have been using PF for a long time now.
I too am experiencing unexpected closures, mainly when using the Save As feature.
This only started happening about 3 weeks ago. I persisted and some times it would save as, other times it would not. Last week though, with the only program problem being with PF, (no other programs crashed, or had any unusual errors) my hard drive died with nothing recoverable. I have since rebuilt the machine and still I am having problems with PF closing when using Save As. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PF on the rebuilt system which has made no difference and am now concerned that if I persist with PF it may kill the hdd again. I'm not by any means saying that PF caused my hdd failure, but if it is not compatible with a new windows update then it may require me to keep re-building my machine until there is a fix!
Any advice would be appreciated as I find using PF a breeze. It is so intuitive and find it does everything I need and would love to keep using once a fix is available.

Try to disable advanced display and XP menu in the startup preferences.
my hard drive died with nothing recoverable
==> I don't understand how it is possible because PF access hard drive only for opening or save files, not for tmp memory or cash disk, and i use standard delphi libs. And PF don't access directelly to hdd sectors but use windows api. For me, it's not possible that the problem comes from PF or Delphi 6. This bug are not know in delphi world...

I have the same problem on two different 'Windows XP' machines it tends to happen when using the file dialogs (open/save) but is not a reproduceable error. There are no issues with other programs on these machines.
I'll try disabling XP menu and advanced display and see if that helps.
I hop I can resolve the problem - I want to buy the Studio edition but not if it's going to continue crashing

This problem suddenly started happening again (in Studio version now). It would close without warning almost every time I tried to open a file.
I checked that Optimized Display and XP Menus were disabled (they were). I've disabled background texture as well now.
I re-booted my pc and haven't had any further problems yet.
Losing work is very frustrating!
Any ideas what the problem might be?
