photomask & mask questions
i never understund well how to use the photomask module
There is a way to have something similar to the Gimp quickmask
( quickmask allow
1 see the partial selected pixel
2 correct seletions with brush or airbrush
= painting with black cancel seletion ,with white create seletion, shades of grey create partial selected area)
It will be useful at least a way to see the real seletion not only the fully selected or fully unselected pixel

My question is clear
Here http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-image-wind ... utton.html more about
quick mask with clear screenshoot.
PhotoS has a similar tool, basic point for me isn't edit the seletion but at least be able to quickly check it in a more accurate way than with marching ants

But when i save a seletion as pfs , i don't get any new mask!!You can use your new mask with the module PhotoMasque to create transparency or use the function special paste with mask.
in the saved file i don't see a mask,i mean i don't see really nothing if i try to open it,PFS did not even allow me to open or load that .pfs file format as mask....(at the end i even try to open it with Xnview,no image was displayed ..instead a few numbers values was displayed)
Instead if i open any " mask " file i see a B& W images that i can edit in a lot of ways...
Basically the question is really this
how i can i convert a seletion in a mask

Hi Carlo,
if i have something understood, here is a simple way to do a mask :
- your image is opened in PFS, right clic on the background layer thumbnail and Duplicate. You get a Layer 1.
- open the saved selection : menu Selection/Load shape
- apply the saved selection on Layer 1, and erase the part you don't want to keep.
- menu Layer/Export layer as PNG.
- open the exported layer as new image and copy
- come back on the first image, Deactivate visible on Layer 1
- menu Edit /Paste special/Mask and a new Layer 2 appears as mask.
- but don't forget that this mask appears whit the foreground color of the palette.
