How to save icon with transparency?

Subj. There are "export icon" menu item, but it works without any respect to image transparency...

Alpha transparency is not supported for the moment, only "simple" transparency

But how to paint "simple" (fully) transparent region for icon?

use Image > Transparent color and set the background color. After you can use the Eraser tool for example

But you have to switch the Image mode from RVBA to RVB.
