Latest version won't run on my XP PC!

After installing the latest version, it simply does not run.

I re-installed the previous version, and it runs.

Has this happened to anyone else?

trye the 6.1.1 beta, perhaps is the twain module ?

Works for me on Windows XP Professional EN, SP2 + all updates.

Do you get an error code, or what is happening?

Some troubleshooting tips:

Clean your Cashe / temp files
Re-download Photofiltre (might have got corrupted at download time somehow)

Scan for nasties (of course): Anti-virus / Adware / Trojan scanner

When I click on the icon, the prgram loads into memory, but nothing appears on the screen. You can see it running in "Task Manager" by hitting CTRL-ALT-Delete and it says "CPU 98."

Is the previous version available for download? I would like to try it again.

I am using antivirus and check for other problems. Very odd.

(I write for 2 US photo magazines and teach a night-class on "how to use your new digital camera." I suggest students use Irfanview, PhotoFiltre and GIMP before buying PhotoShop Elements 3.0!)

I've seen you got a previous version, working fine.

I can only asume something is getting in the way of version 6.1 (something in memory)

Odd problems can hapen to all kinds of programs, unfortunately.

I'll bet 6.1 will run fine if you reinstall everything, but that is quite a lot of work, and only marginally rewarding idf 6.02 runs just fine.

Just remember 6.02. has some oddities concering twain support, so there might be some problems if you use twain compatible camera's on versions before 6.1

As for using photofiltre mare as Photoshop: Me too I have Photoshop CS , Paintshop pro and ACDSee installed, but I hardly ever use them (and after version 7.0 of photofiltre comes out, I do think I won't use them anymore) (especialy in combination with FastStone Image viewer.)

In the 6.1 there a new module twain with test checking at startup for enable/disable twain menu/button. in the 6.1.1 (beta) i disable this test because it can be bugged with some windows version...
