need help

I only speak English.

I tried to make a postcard. But I had a gif file. I make 1/4 of picture.
Next I tried fllter but nothing showed.

I tried to make another file as jpg using paint and IrfanView and GIMP but
each time an error shows up about using jpg.

Hello, I am not certain I understand the question in its entirety, however, I believe you must convert the .gif to .bmp in order to use your filter, then, when finished, you may resave as a .gif file. Sorry I have not been of more help.

Hi,

They are two different questions.

• A gif file is built in indexed colors.
  With PF6, some tools and functions aren't available in indexed colors and transparency mode
  You need turn your Image in RVB Mode, and if transparency open Image / Transparent color to disable.
  But, usualy, you can paste a gif file (even with transparency) on a jpg without changing anything.
• each time an error shows up about using jpg : What sais the error message ?
  perhaps should it help to understand what happends ?

Unable to load image in file "\some file\town Meeting 1-30-20009.jpg"

It had a Town Meeting 1-30-2009.gif in same place as the first one but it didn't show it.

Then I check the file Town Meeting 1-30-2009.gif then I opened PhotoFiltre while looking at the file and it opened the file Town Meeting 1-30-2009.gif.

I used the file as postcard. I opened 1/4 then went to filter but it was grayed out.

What's PF6 ?
What's RVB ?
What's RGB ?

I am disabled, can't use but one hand and can't hear.

Ok, how do I know which one to use?

PF6 is PhotoFiltre 6
RVB is the same french RGB for Red, Green , Blue color mode, you can find it in the Image menu.
You can follow my last post and you will can work with your gif file.

To open the jpeg file, had you a double clic done on the file or had you by menu/File/Open proceeded ?
Does it happends by the same way for every jpeg files or only these you had created with other image editors ?

The first time in several months I used PhotoFiltre.

I used postcard before and others like Text and Image.

but did not use PhotoFiltre until just recently.

I was surprised when I could not use PhotoFiltre. also the codes. lol

I will let you know tomorrow how it turns out.

I don't know what happened but I used Jpg. I opened it and then I opened 1/4 then went to filter and used color and the rest then I save it as Town Meeting 1-30-2009.jpg.

Then I looked at it and looks good.
