How to hide frame+shadow around loaded picture?

When I load a picture then around it there is a grey background with dark shadow.

How do I turn off this "feature" and show the "naked" image (for editing)?

Ok, this hides the shadow and border line.

But there is still a grey frame around it.
How can I get rid of this too?

not possible. Why do you want to remove it ? it's the windows background, don't understand

I am NOT talking about the windows background but the small border around the actual picture inside the editor window (see red arrow in this snapshot:

I have never seen an picture editor which paints such an unnecessary stuff around an image.
