How to merge photos seamlessly?

Message par Hort »

Hello! :P

I can easily merge several photos below each other with Edit => Past special => Assemble... However, the result is not very nice because I can still see the ugly lines/seams. There must be a way to merge photos seamlessly but I gave up finding it. Can you please push me in the right direction?

I see you are using Studio. The solution to your question rests on what image(s) you wish to blend.
If possible with the material you are working it would be best to use layers on a blank background in order to merge images. Make certain the background has enough area for all images to be merged.
Move each around as layers until the desired finish is achieved. You may want to enlarge your view in order to see detail best.
When all your images are aligned as you like, merge all of your layers with the background, then select the area of the image as you like it, and crop to the selection.
I hope this is of some value for you.

Hi,

with the Studio release, you have plenty of solutions to merge several photos. Just some ones :
- Retouch tool /Magic eraser : apply it on the "ugly lines"
- draw a selection of 20 pixels width on the ugly lines and right click / Antialiasing / Progressive contour,
and menu Filter/ Visual effect / Gaussian blur
- don't use Past special : increase the canvas size of the first image. Paste the second image which becomes a Layer
Draw a selection on the border which will cover up the first image, and menu Layer/ Transparency / Transparency gradient
- Look at the tutorials for an Artistic assemblage, at this page : http://photofiltre.free.fr/tutorials_en.htm
