Hi there,
I experienced, that sometimes after saving a picture I cannot use any painting tools anymore...
So far, I could not find any rule behind it.
Any idea, what this could be..
best regards
and thanks in advance
Matthias

Thank you very much indeed, 2
Hi Tom, you again...
I first had a look at the other post, now this one...
So both times I touched the same issue... Good to know....
To overcome this, I will need to stay away from transparency or buy the professional version (if I interpreted your comment from the other post - stating, that I obviously work with the freeware version - correctly)
Thanks again,
Matthias

Yes matthias,
that's right, the Studio release is realy a very good tool.
You can easyly work with transparency and save any layer in png type without any loss.
Many other functions are available: combined selections, layers and blending modes, an histogram, perspective correction....
But you can also further go with the V6 release in terms of transparency until you don't need to save the midwork steps with.
Particularly you can use, in Edit menu, the Paste special function and "Image with linked mask", to do some funy montages.
For example, you can copy this picture below and make a Paste special on a background filled with many colours and forms.
And tell me what you think about.

Thanks again
Tom,
thanks again for spending the effort...
My problem is - and that's why the Studio version would not make sense to me - that I don't work a lot with graphics stuff. Some special Xmas Cards out of photos of the children and to print some photos, where I combine several photos... only a few times a year...
I'd like to do more, since the possibilities are really great, but don't have the time...
But thanks to your answers, I will spend less time in trying around with transparency...!
OK, take care.
