dupilcating layer technique from a different editing program

Message par nurvanna »

i'd like to make some custon trading cards similar to the custom trading cards created here. the person created the custom card using 4 photoshop layers. i'd like to do the same using photofiltre(freeware version).
i'm starting to collect autographs again. i'd like to create a few of some musicians and actors and get these signed. i'd appreciate any help in doing these.

these are images of the 4 layers used to create the final version:

layer 1
layer 2
layer 3
layer 4

thank you for your time.

Hi nurvana,

At first, you could post following in your last topic.

In my answer, i did propose you to save each layer in a different file.
But i hadn't precise the file type you need.
In order to keep all the real attributes of the layer (particularly the transparency or the alpha chanel ) you need to save the 3 first layers in png type.
Differently in jpg type, the layer 3, for example, is flatten and the look like cotton-wool of the edges is lost,
so it's quite difficult to create again the same aspect from a jpg file.

- Thus, save the original layer 3 as png file from XnView or IrfanView.
- Open it in PhotoFiltre, and the layer 4 too.
- Copy and paste it on the layer 4, and you will see a real difference.

If you need to work on layers is better you look for the Studio version.
Even so the layers from photoshop psd files COULD have propriety (layer styles ,layer adjustment, layer mask) that cannot be edited from any other software.

Of course the Tom tip will work , but only Studio version allow real work on layers

you can try and use PFS free for 30days .
