I am not graphically inclined at all and am a new user.
Someone recommended this site to retouch photos specifically to people. Can someone tell me exactly how to do this, I'm having a hard time finding a tutorial or help with this.

Hi,
PhotoFiltre is indeed a good tool to retouch photos.
But i don't think the technique for portrait is very different for landscape retouch.
It's only recommended to enhance smoothly the clarity or sharpen in portrait, in order that the skin grain would keep a kind look.
Therof, i think you can find on the web many tutorials to photo retouch in english.
To my knowledge, i only see this tutorial in english for PF :
