menu filter - colour - coloured laayer - inverser

Hi all,
Please can someone tell me what means INVERSER in the menu Filter - Colour - coloured layer.
I inset a capture from the French edition:

It's useful when you have to remove a colored layer, for example on a photo taken indoor (with artificial light), with the wrong color settings that create an horrible orange layer In this case you choose orange and you check Inverser. That removes the color.

Thank you, this is an absolute eye-opener for me..... just tried it out... works fine. On a misty day (we have many over here now) you make a picture and with this option it still can be finelooking!

To follow and complete the explanation from François, i propose you to have a glance at this colors wheel :

In few words :
- you can attenuate a color like in the last post of François.
- you can also use this wheel to quickly find the right inverse color to increase an other hue.

For more precision in the color choice, you can open this picture with PF and select inverse of the right color with the pipette.
- Ctrl Tab and you are back on your first picture
- Menu Filter/Colour/Colored filter and you can select the foreground color of the pallet.
