How to insert the COPYRIGHT sign when using Text?

Although I know the typed shortcut for the copyright sign in Word, it will not work when I type text on a photograph.

All I want to do is add a small "(Copyright) Susie" on the bottom of certain photographs. Can anyone tell me how to get that c within the circle on a photograph?

Yes the shortcuts does'nt match in the text module.
But you can copy the sign and paste it in the text module with the same choice of font.
If you have a keyboard with a numeric keys bloc, you can try Alt + 184 ©

use the char tab to insert special characters (is for that i added the button in the text module )

Sorry Antonio, but the char tab is only in the Studio release of PhotoFiltre, not in the freeware.
