opening TGA with alpha layer

Hello!

If I open an TGA image (RGBA) I can't edit its alpha channel (edit alpha channel of the layer context menu is greyed out).
Actually the TGA is a converted DDS (DXT5) image (some kind of normal map), and I would have to edit the RGBA channels separately because only the green and alpha channels contain information. I can edit the RGB channels (using a plugin) but the alpha cannot be edited by me.
So my question is: how can I edit the alpha channel of the opened TGA image?

if the menu is grayed it is because the TGA is opened in RGB mode and not in RGBA, Alpha is not supported with this format (ignored)

Try other soft to convert TGA RGBA to PNG RGBA, after you can edit in PFS
