I found a way how to get rid of the grey/white stuff in PhotoFiltre 7. I select the grey/white stuff with magic wand, and then i press 'Delete' button on the keyboard. BUT, the result is not as good as with PhotoFiltre 6.5.2

The problem: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/305/theproblem.jpg
Fixed with PhotoFiltre 6.5.2: http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6790/t ... hphoto.jpg
"Fixed" with PhotoFiltre 7: http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/478/gr ... ithmag.jpg << see the white thin lines on the left upper edge on the cat image?

How i fix the problem very easily and with very good results with PhotoFiltre 6.5.2:
Step 1: Right click on small image (cat)> click on 'Paste options...' http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/9725 ... dthens.jpg
Step 2: Check the 'Transparency' box> click 'Ok' http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/5209 ... sparen.jpg
Done!

I love PhotoFiltre 7 but the lack of the 'Transparency' option drives me nuts!
Why have they made PF 7 worse than PF 6.5.2 in this matter?
Give us back the Transparency option which is found in PF 6.5.2!

By the way, PhotoFiltre Studio X 10.4.1 has the same problem as PF 7.

EDIT: nvm, i found it.

Hi Anon2,

Indeed, you can process like you wish, but you should take a little more time before to declare that PF 7 and Studio
don't manage easily the transparency. It's exactly the opposite. :)

PF7 and Studio offer the same functions as PF6 for transparency, and much more.
But you have to play with the Layers and consider them as a special sheet which can be cut by the selections,
or erased (on the edges, for example) by the Erase tool, by the masks (in grey levels and pasted in the Alpha channel (right clic in the Layer thumb))

Play with the layers and transparency, and accept to discover how it works and when you meet a hard point,
try an other way, you will discover finaly a rather simple and very more flexible tool than other big ones.
Don't forget to look at the Layer menu and in the right clic menu.

Well i found it now.
You could have said what i should click on ^^ Select the layer> click on the Layer menu and then 'Transparency'.
I was looking in the Layer menu before but maybe i didn't select the layer before i did it.

Yes indeed, each time you apply some function you have to define the target of your action.
In PF6 you define the target by selecting an area, and in PF7 or Studio, you have also to define the level into the sheets of layers.

At this point, have a look in the Preferences / Other / Auto select layer.
If the box is checked (by default), when you clic on a solid part of the image, the upper layer corresponding to this solid point is selected,
but if this point is fully transparent on the upper layers, the clic "goes through the transparent parts of layers",
and the first layer below which is solid at this point is selected.

Other way, when the box is unchecked, you have to select the thumbs of layers to define the level of your action,
but by this way you have no bad surprise.
