Poor Quality Text

Message par igrieves »

Guys,

I use Photofiltre for my web design business and love it. The only thing it does badly is when I want to insert some text on top of an image. The quality of the text is quite ragged especialy if the font size is small.

My way round it is to create a much larger version of the text, make the background transparent, reduce the box size and then paste it in where I wanted the text. This works quite well although is time consuming.

There must be something I am not doing right here. I know there are quite a few things in PH I have not used.

Any ideas anybody?

Hi igrieves,

i saw last week a post about a great professionnal image editor, wrote by a specialist which said that it is not the right tool for text editing.
He suggested to work wtih a publisher tool or a text editor and copy/paste.
He explained that the vectorial routines for characters are better improved in the publisher tools.

For my own needs, usualy i create a document at the right centimeter or inch size, with 300 dpi of resolution,
so the graphic gradients are more progressives and the curves of text too.

If necessary and if i have images of sufficient size to paste in my work (without increase them),
i double the whole size of the background to work with comfort, and i divide the size at the end.

But for very small size of characters, you have to choose a convenient font (they aren't all able to),
and it's better to ceate text in Open Office for example with the same background color.
Bien plus facile avec PhotoFiltre. Cordialement.
