fixing a "blown out" face in a picture

Message par jesus chrysler »

I have a picture of me hugging a nice big dog. my face is "blown out" (overexposed) Please tell me how to normalize the levels of the over exposed face so as to look normal (not so "blown out") any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I have Photofiltre and please tell me what feature to use in it. :( Please e-mail me at tomp1253@msn.com

Hi,

- do a duplicata of your document and close the original
- on the duplicata you have to select the area to process and define what type of antialiasing you need.
( a right clic into the selection and choose Antialiasing / Progressive contour)
- menu Adjust / Gamma correct and decrease the value to a correct exposure.
- if the color is too much red, that happends some times, keep the selection and menu Adjust / Hue - Saturation
Set the Saturation value to - 30% and check which channel gives the best color effect,
than adjust finaly the level value for the best channel.
