Re: How to make white even whiter
Hi,
White is white, you can't have more than white. The RVB values are 255, 255, 255.
255 plus 0, it does 256 colors maximum in Black and white.
Only a gray color can become a white one, with brightness or gamma correction.
The secret of the white color : the same than the secret to view a good moovie :
White is whiter when the surroundings are darker.
But it cames from the masters of chiaroscuro, such as Caravaggio.

Re: How to make white even whiter
Let me explain myself better.
I breed leopard geckos, therefore the pictures I show will be of them:
My pictures look like this:
Others look like this - as the tampered with the white colour
They enhance the white in some way.........
Do you understand my question now?

Re: How to make white even whiter
Oh yes, from begining i've understood,
but there are several parts in my answer, especially for the gray colors, and all parts are interrelated.
Anyway, the best method to integrate a knowledge is to practise and exercise.
Other way but not necessarily the best : a white balance adjustment plugin at this page : http://photofiltre.free.fr/frames_en.htm
But for my opinion, the second one was cut out and pasted on a full white background
