adding texture to a border

adding texture to a border
Is there a way to add texture to a border, or a mat? Also, when I add a textured background behind a drop shadow, and then add the same texture to a mat, there is no color match. I've tried everything. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I don't understand what you mean with "mat"
I just can help you for adding a texture to a border :
-Make your selection
-Edit/Stroke and fill
-Draw your stroke with "Antialias" unchecked. OK.
-Selection/Hide selection
-Open the pattern or texture you want to fill the stroke.
-Edit/Define pattern
-Choose the Fill tool with "Pattern" checked.
-Click on any point of your stroke.

The best way to explain what I'm asking is to show you an image I did in Photoshop. Can you do something like this in PhotoFiltre, I've not figured out a way to do so. Here's an example.FrançoisL a écrit :I don't understand what you mean with "mat"
Mat is the same as a white boarder between the frame and the main image. However, it has texture.

Bonjour

FrançoisL a écrit :Translation of cath's reply :
-Open your image
-Image/Outside drop shadow and choose your pattern as the background pattern.
-Image/Canvas size and choose the same pattern as background pattern.
Yes, I tried that. However, I found that if I want to change the opacity of the drop shadow to lighter, it does not match when I use the background texture on the canvas, since I can not change it's opacity. I suppose the solution is to create a new texture.
Thank you again for your help.
