Where are my edited photos?

Message par Uber »

Hi, I opened a photo, edited it and then closed it. Before it closes it asks if I want to save the changes. I type yes. Now I want to go find these edited photos to post to facebook. Where do I look for them? I can't find them anywhere on my hard drive. Thanks
Tom

Hi, I think you don't rather find the original image,
because when you proceed by this way you save the modified image without changing his name,
so you crush the original file, like in any other applications. But you can also cancel before processing.

To avoid this, use the function menu File/Save as and change the name of the file.
Or save the file with a new name just after opening the original.

See also the settings in Preferences (menu/Tools) at the Folders page.
Bien plus facile avec PhotoFiltre. Cordialement.

Thanks Tom. Problem is I already did it this way with all my photos from the album. The "Save As" option with a different file name was definitely the way to go, but now I need to find the 80 odd photos that I already spent hours on. The original files are still in the original state in a folder in "My Pictures". No sign of the edited photos.
Any ideas?
Tom

To look at the last folder used to open and/or save :

=> See also the settings in Preferences (menu/Tools) at the Folders page.

If the original files are still in the original state, it's a good thing, and it means that the Preferences are set
with a different folder for open and save.

If the settings in Preferences does not drive to the right folder, and if you remember a specific part of names from files,
the search tool of the Windows Explorer would be able to find them.
Don't forget to look if you had used or not an extension to save or search your name of files...

OK, just found out that the photos are actually in the original folder in it's changed format. I didn't realise this, because I was looking at the previews and funnily enough the thumbnail are still the same as the original photos, but when opened, the edited photo appears. Strange.....but problem solved!
Thanks again

Fine ! I'm happy you found all of yours. :)
For information the thumbnail doesn't be changed if you keep the original exif informations when saving in jpeg.
