suddenly cannot scan from PhotoFiltre

Quite suddenly, I am unable to scan from PhotoFiltre. I use Canoscan 8800F. When I click on the Acquire Image icon, I get into the Scangear program as usual. I click on Preview, and the scanner behaves as normal. But instead of getting the scanned image, I am returned to PhotoFiltre with the error message "Division par zero en virgule flottante" (Floating point division by zero).

This happened with PF 6.5.1. I deinstalled, reinstalled, and it still happened. So I deinstalled again and installed 6.5.2. Same thing.

I do not have this problem when scanning from other applications, e.g. IrfanView, Photoshop Elements. Until two days ago, I didn't have it with PhotoFiltre either. All other operations on PF seem to be possible as usual.

I use Win XP Pro.

Found an old version (6.4.0) and installed that. The problem has gone.
