Alpha channel Batch conversion

Hi

If I open up a png with transparent alpha channel I can adjust colours/saturation etc with no problem and it is done correctly. Do exactly the same though using batch conversion and it does not save the alpha channel and just 'messes' up the image !

Am I doing something wrong ?

Also If I go to remove alpha transparency from a png I always get left with a black background, can you change the colour of the background (black ) that you will get if you remove transparency? I can do this easily using Gimp.

it's right, the batch module don't support alpha channel for the moment

can you change the colour of the background (black )
==> i don't change the color, it's the originl png color for transparent area.
give me a png for test...

Sorry the 'black' just confuses things, irrespective of the original transparent colour can I change the transparent colour to anything I want so that If I want to remove the alpha transparency I am left with my choice of colour background.

ie.. I just had an alpha png toolbar skin for Irfanview that didn't work with my pc colours, If I just removed transparency the background would go black, but I needed the background to be grey. Using another editor I could change the original tranparency colour to the correct grey colour, thus when removing transparency ( which I needed to do ) I was left with the correct grey background and Not the black one !

Can this be done in Photofiltre ?

I hope that has made it a bit clearer

not with the batch module, only manually and only with the studio version
just insert a new background with the color you want

I don't think it's likely you'd ever need that for batch conversion do you, famous last words

One final thing though if I may, Is there a way to change the white and grey chequed background of transparent images to a solid colour of your choice as I always find this really confusing in graphics programs, it just makes it difficult to see the image properly and makes editing very difficult, well to me personally ! If it's a no maybe that's a feature that could be added .....

Hi,

When a transparency mask is get, it may be used (or its negative) with any associated image (even a single colored one)
