Hello,

since yesterday i would like to test photofiltre(8.02), but the first thing i wanted to test .. failed.

I would like to scann an 2400dpi image, it is very old an i need the high resolution, but photofiltre stopped working.

At the first time i waited 5 minutes o kick it and the second i waited 10 minutes but only the CPUworked on 99,9% and no image on screen.

at the 3rd time, i changed to 600dpi and it worked.

So far i use also Pixel, and there was no problem with 2400dpi and the same picture.

So my software-& hardware details: amd64, win2000, acer s2w 3300U scanner with mirascan 4.03 (twain-software from acer/benq).

Is there a solve or a trick?

thank you,

gafi

So meanwhile i found also a problem, to open big tiff-files. 2400dpi with tiff/lzw-format i cannot openthe pictures. photofiltre stopped working and i must close the program with taskmanager. So is this a general problem? Did someone have also problems like me?

2400 dpi create big image (more than 10000 pixels !!!!). PF don't support this

Thank you for quick answers,

I have 2gig RAM at home, but today i realized, that sometimes some programs work with this high resolution. Don't know at the moment why it workes sometimes .. and mostly not.. maybe i need a better scanner? and more RAM?

So the next two days i'm ill so cannot test it, with my computer at work.

So is there a great problem with more than 10.000 pixels? and will it be supported in the future or is it to complex? So actually i'm impressed by some nice features from photofiltre.

Hi gafi,

Antonio wanted to say 10.000 pixels in both sizes : 10.000 x 10.000.
If my count is correct, it does 100 million pixels.
So you can print a poster 139 inches x 139. Fine for a loft ? :)

Hihi.. ok 10.000 x 10.000 is a little bit heavy .o) Some of the pictures are very small, so i i wanna print them to A4 i need something more than 600dpi.

Some software use the print size and not physical size, but you can not edit the image. PF and PFS are not a viewer but an editor and you need more and more resources
